Sol LeWitt created his first wall drawing in 1968. These drawings can be executed by a draughtsperson following the artist’s instructions. The dimensions of the wall and the quality of its surface are important elements, along with how dark or light the pencil lines are. Each person executing the drawing follows or interprets the instructions differently, and has their own natural style of handling a line.
